Liverpool Close To Securing Teenage Wonderkid After He Trains At Anfield

Martin Odegaard looking likely to move to the Reds.

Liverpool look set to beat fellow European giants Manchester United and Real Madrid to the signing of prodigious Norwegian teenager Martin Odegaard from Stromsgodset, report the Mirror, after he trained with the Reds following a tour of Anfield and meeting manager Brendan Rodgers to discuss a possible move to the Premier League.

Odegaard became Norway’s youngest ever international after he made his international debut aged just 15 recently, whilst he is also a first team regular for Stromsgodset, who sit in fourth place in the Norwegian Tippeligaen despite manager Ronny Deila leaving for Celtic mid-way through the season.

The teenager is set to make a decision on his future in the coming days as he turns 16, meaning that he can sign a pre-contract agreement with a major European club and lay out his future career path, with Real Madrid and Manchester United also believed to have scouted Odegaard along with Liverpool.

The Reds seem to lead the chase for Odegaard, however, with the Norwegian being a boyhood supporter of the club and having agreed to come for a tour of the club’s facilities, but there is still time for United and Real to turn Odegaard’s head in their direction.
