Sergio Aguero has a better minutes per goal ratio than some of the Premier League’s biggest names and the lowest in the League’s history.

Whilst the figures could still change with Aguero’s continuing career, the Manchester City striker fends off the likes of Luis Suarez, Robin van Persie and a number of Premier League legends in a list compiled by Daily Mail.

We look at the top 10 on the list.

10) Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – 153 minutes per goal

The baby faced assassin was renowned for his ability to come on when all hope seemed lost turn the match around in Manchester United’s favour. Scored 91 goals in 235 games for the Red Devils. Will always be close to Red hearts for THAT night in Barcelona.

9) Alan Shearer – 146.9 minutes per goal

Brought in at Blackburn Rovers at the inception of the Premier League, Shearer’s natural goalscoring ability guided Kenny Dalglish’s side to a Premier League title.

But he found his home at boyhood club Newcastle United becoming the Premier League’s and club’s record goalscorer and a legend in the process.

8) Daniel Sturridge – 139.3 minutes per goal

The Liverpool striker spent much of his younger years moving around a number of clubs and could never find consistent form or regular game time.

But a punt by Brendan Rodgers brought the talented but misunderstood youngster to Anfield where he has re-payed the faith by becoming one of the league’s most potent strikers.

Sorely missed this season on Merseyside through injury.

7) Luis Suarez – 138.8 minutes per goal

Another Liverpool striker graces the records.

Suarez may have ended up higher on the list had his on-field exploits not landed him in hot water numerous times.

No doubting his immense striking ability it’s just a shame that the now Barcelona forward couldn’t match his supreme talent with his an equally brilliant mindset.

6) Edin Dzeko – 138.7 minutes per goal

The 28 year old from Sarajevo came to the Premier League with a powering reputation from his time in Germany but initially struggled to settle.

However, under new City boss Manuel Pellegrini, has rediscovered some much needed form but could be even higher if he was more clinical.

5) Robin van Persie – 138.3 minutes per goal

His earlier years at Arsenal saw van Persie labelled as talented and deadly, but brittle and injury prone with the striker having numerous and length spells on the sidelines for seemingly innocuous injuries.

However, that all changed in 2010 when van Persie took the Premier League by storm; single handedly dragging Arsenal into the top four, becoming PFA player of the year and in the summer moving to Manchester United where he was a key component of Sir Alex Ferguson’s final Premier League triumph.

4) Javier Hernandez – 129.6 minutes per goal

Hernandez took on the mantle of the modern day Solskjaer after Sir Alex Ferguson plucked him out of the obscurity of the Mexican football leagues.

Always good for a goal, the Mexican put fear in the hearts of defenders when he rocked on to the field towards the end of games. But maligned under David Moyes, Hernandez was loaned out at the beginning of this season to Real Madrid.

3) Ruud van Nistelrooy – 128.2 minutes per goal

Unsurprising that the Dutchman would feature somewhere near the top of this list. His 95 goals in 150 Premier League games part of an astonishing career for the Red Devils.

Now working as an assistant coach for the Netherlands his exploits and direct style will go down in the annuls as one of United’s most loved strikers.

2) Thierry Henry – 121.8 minutes per goal

When Henry first rocked up in North London in 1999 no-one could have imagined that an inconsistent winger from Juventus would go down as one of the greatest players to ever grace these shores.

His astonishing first spell at Arsenal saw him achieve almost every accolade imaginable achieving the league’s golden boot award an incomprehensible four times.

Came back for presumably his swan song in 2012 where, even at 34, he managed to teach the league’s current forwards a thing or two about finishing. Arsenal fans, though, are hoping the Frenchman might return just one more time after he left New York Red Bulls in the past week.

It would be a fitting end for a wonderful player.

1) Sergio Aguero – 108 minutes per goal

In the form of his life, Aguero is on course to beat Cristiano Ronaldo’s 31 goal season record at his current rate of a goal a game.

Miles ahead of the chasing pack you’d imagine the Argentine can only get better and it would be a dangerous man to predict this won’t be the only record Aguero will eventually beat and better.

A scary thought indeed.
