Arsenal and Chelsea are being linked with a move to sign Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko, though Alan Pardew says the Magpies have not yet received an official approach from either club, the Daily Mail reports.

The French international has been a top Premier League midfielder since he made the move to St James’ Park, and could be the latest to use the club as something of a stepping stone to earn a move to a bigger side.

Newcastle sold Mathieu Debuchy to Arsenal in the summer transfer window, whilst losing Yohan Cabaye to Paris Saint-Germain last January, and Pardew fears Sissoko could be the next of their star players to exit the club.

Arsenal look in particular need of new additions in the middle of the park, but it seems that Chelsea are also monitoring the 25-year-old’s situation at the moment as the transfer window draws nearer and nearer.
