CaughtOffside takes a look at some of the poor performers from mid-week who need a convincing weekend in the Premier League’s 15th round of fixtures.

Hugo Lloris (Tottenham Hotspur)

A particular poor performance from the Frenchman, a rare blot on his otherwise superb record.

Lloris let Eden Hazard shoot past him near post on his weaker foot before kicking the ball straight back to the Belgian three minutes later allowing Didier Drogba through and Spurs to be out of the match, 2-0 down, inside 22 minutes.

Nikica Jelavic (Hull City)

Another bad showing from the Croat who has been in poor form for a number of weeks now.

The trend continued against his old side Everton, the game largely passed him by, had few shots at the goal and only one decent chance that he missed. Will need to do better against West Bromwich Albion.

Simon Mignolet (Liverpool)

Mignolet is now providing howlers on an almost weekly basis now. His poor pass should have led to a goal after he provided Esteban Cambiasso with an open net, but was lucky the Argentine didn’t have his shooting boots on.

Is running out of time to save his Anfield career. With January on the horizon and the transfer window approaching you can only see it ending in tears if his form doesn’t pick up soon.

Shane Long (Southampton)

Had little impact against Nacho Monreal down Arsenal’s left. Never looked comfortable and wasted the one chance Southampton were waiting for when they had a breakaway, attempting the spectacular when Graziano Pelle was open to his left.

His shot went wildly into row Z whilst the Gunners ran out 1-0 winners in the end.
