A-League Round Nine Top Five Players Of The Week: Melbourne Victory, Adelaide United & Perth Glory Stars Dominate

We rate the five best players from the weekend’s A-League action.

Fabio Ferreira (Adelaide United)

Scored an excellent goal and caused all sorts of problems for a stretched Western Sydney defence.

Was pivotal in the Reds’ win.

Roly Bonevacia (Wellington Phoenix)

Bonevacia makes our top five for the third time this season and is proving to be one of the signings of the season.

The Dutchman had a hand in all three of Wellington’s goals as the Phoenix came from behind to defeat Newcastle 3-1 away from home.

Daniel Georgievski (Melbourne Victory)

The Macedonia international scored one of the goals of the season for the Victory as his side cruised to a 3-0 win over Central Coast.

He combined well with Archie Thompson and later Connor Pain on the left hand side, and was yet again solid defensively.

Marcelo Carrusca (Adelaide United)

Adelaide were completely dominant against the Wanderers and the Argentine was central to every attacking move.

His link-up play with Cirio was sublime and he rarely lost the ball.

Rostyn Griffiths (Perth Glory)

Griffiths’ defensive job on Sydney playmaker Terry Antonis was crucial in the Glory’s win last Thursday.

The towering midfielder also grabbed the equaliser with a well-taken header.
