GK) Wojciech Szczesny – 7

Didn’t have a huge amount to do but kept his defence confident. Saved one late Wesley Sneijder free kick, and couldn’t do much about the second.

LB) Hector Bellerin – 7

A decent performance at left-back, played some encouraging exchanges with Ramsey to create space in the middle.

CB) Per Mertesacker – 7.5

Will be frustrated to have missed out on another clean sheet after conceding from a free kick late on.

CB) Calum Chambers – 7

Looks far more comfortable at centre-back than at right-back.

RB) Mathieu Debuchy – 7

Played well for an hour before being removed. Wenger will be delighted to have him back.

CM) Mathieu Flamini – 7.5

Solid performance from the defensive midfielder, who kept Sneijder quiet until he was taken off at half time.

CM) Aaron Ramsey – 8

A fantastic performance from the midfielder, who scored a cool first and a stunning second. Taken off at half time after picking up a knock.

AML) Lukas Podolski – 8

Hammered in the first and then rolled in a late second. Will have improved his asking price with that performance.

AMC) Alex Ozlade Chamberlain – 8

Outstanding running between the lines creating chances for his teammates.

AMR) Joel Cambell – 6.5

Created some chances with his pace but still careless in the final third.

ST) Yaya Sanogo – 6

Would have hoped to have contributed more given Galatasaray’s obvious limitations
