Everton play the final match of their Europa League group stage campaign knowing that they have already qualified in first place for the knockout round. Krasnodar are in a similar if less encouraging position, already knowing that they will not qualify for the next stage.

With this in his mind, Roberto Martinez has made it clear that he will be using the match as a way to give some of his squad members and younger players more time on the pitch. The Catalan has already named most of his starting XI, and Joel Robles, Luke Garbutt, Tyias Browning, Antolin Alcaraz, Bryan Oviedo, Steven Pienaar, Arouna Kone, Conor McAleny, and Christian Atsu will all be playing.

The other two spots are apparently for two “young diamonds”. Rumours say that they could be England Under 18’s captain Ryan Ledson, and either Jonjoe Kenny, Brendan Galloway, or Keiran Dowell.

The youngsters will be up against a Krasnodar side that was unlucky to draw when they played the Toffees at home. Players such as Wanderson will be a stern test in what will be many of the academy products’ first senior match.
