Arsenal host Newcastle United in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium this evening with Arsene Wenger’s side hoping to build on their 4-1 Champions League victory over Galatasaray in Istanbul during the week.

Visitors Newcastle arrive in North London a high, however, having beaten Chelsea at St. James’ Park last weekend and having won six of their last eight matches, meaning that Alan Pardew’s Magpies are sure to provide stern opposition for the Gunners.

Newcastle do have concerns with both injury and suspension, however, after reserve goalkeeper Rob Elliot joined first choice Tim Krul in the treatment room, leaving youngster Jak Alnwick to don the gloves, whilst centre back Steven Taylor is also suspended after his red card last weekend.

Arsenal could be without midfielder Aaron Ramsey after his fine display in Istanbul in the week, with the Welshman’s fitness to be assessed before the game, whilst Arsene Wenger must also decide whether to give two-goal hero Lukas Podolski a chance from the start in the Premier League ahead of either Olivier Giroud or Danny Welbeck.
