Chelsea’s loans are not working out for them this season, in particular Marco Van Ginkel’s spell in Italy…
Sulley Muntari was never afraid of going in for a full blooded tackle, but the former Portsmouth player’s love of a stiff challenge may have backfired.
The Gazzetta Dello Sport reports that the midfielder injured Marco Van Ginkel in training at Milanello, and could receive a fine for his clumsiness.
Van Ginkel, who is on loan at Milan from Chelsea as he recovers from a long term cruciate injury, had his ankle damaged by Muntari’s tackle, and could be out of action for up to six weeks, although this is a bare minimum according to GdS.

The Italian paper speaks of a “general rage” against Muntari, who is being blamed for the injury, and speculate that a “hefty fine” could be levied against the Ghanaian midfielder.
Milan continue to struggle under Filippo Inzaghi, and they lost again against surprise-package Genoa last weekend.
Van Ginkel’s loan spell is proving to be a total disaster for Chelsea. The 22-year-old was barely played in the early months of the season and since breaking into the side has had his time on the pitch severely limited by a series of niggling injuries.
Being hurt by his own teammate in training was the last thing the former Vitesse star needed.
