Chelsea Set To Capitalise On Momentum By Sealing New Contracts For Four Stars

Blues ready to continue their seasonal contract offering spree.

Things are going well for Chelsea this season – Jose Mourinho’s side may have lost their first game last weekend against Newcastle United, but they bounced back this weekend against Hull City and also won their final Champions League group game in midweek.

With Mourinho presiding over a young, enterprising team who look like they could go on to dominate domestic and, potentially, European football for some time to come, recent reports have suggested that the Blues will capitalise on the momentum to tie these four stars down to new deals:

Willian

Despite the fact that former Shakhtar Donetsk winger Willian has three years left on his Stamford Bridge deal, reports have suggested that the Blues will look to tie him down to an even longer deal on account of the Brazilian’s fine form for the club and the importance of his industry and energy to Jose Mourinho’s system.

Gary Cahill

He may have been at the centre of controversy during this weekend’s victory over Hull City, with Tigers manager Steve Bruce feeling that the England international should’ve been sent off both for a high challenge on Sone Aluko and a blatant dive whilst on a yellow card, but Gary Cahill is usually a quietly dependable performer for Chelsea that they would like to tie down for the future.

John Terry

The Chelsea skipper is certainly entering into the twilight years of his career and, on account of the Blues’ one year for over thirties policy, he is out of contract at the end of the season. Mourinho has hinted at an extension, however, and is unlikely to break up his superb partnership with Cahill.

Eden Hazard

Perhaps the most important of the quartet that Chelsea need to tie down to a new deal is winger Eden Hazard, on account of apparent interest from continental giants Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain. Mourinho is confident that he will sign a deal soon, however, with reports suggesting that the Belgian is closing in on a bumper £200,000 per week extension.
