Manchester United v Liverpool – Key Battles That Will Decide The Premier League Clash.

GK – Simon Mignolet

Despite the fact the goalkeeper is clearly a liability, with Brad Jones the only available backup the Belgium international will have to continue between the sticks.

RB – Glen Johnson

Javier Manquillo has failed to impress since completing a two-year loan deal from Atletico Madrid and we expect the experience of Johnson to be preferred.

CB – Martin Skrtel

Has been the only defender to show any sort of form this season and that is why manager Brendan Rodgers will stick with the Slovakian.

CB – Dejan Lovren

May have been something of a flop since his £20m summer move from Southampton, but with Kolo Toure only just returning to match fitness and Mamadou Sakho out of favour, we expect Lovren to continue.

LB – Alberto Moreno

Jose Enrique was so poor against FC Basel in the Champions League midweek he was hauled off at half-time and therefore Moreno should be recalled at left-back.

CDM – Lucas Leiva

Up against a tough Red Devils attack the Brazilian should operate in front of the back four and is sure to have a busy afternoon.

CM – Steven Gerrard

The captain scored a brace in this fixture last term, but may have to operate in a more defensive way this time around.

CM – Jordan Henderson

It’s games like this where Henderson needs to start proving why he should be Gerrard’s successor as skipper.

RM – Raheem Sterling

Although may not have been in as good form as in 2013/14 the 20-year-old is still the Reds’ best chance of scoring.

ST – Rickie Lambert

Lambert has hardly showered himself in glory since a summer move, but Rodgers is likely to prefer the striker’s physicality.

LM- Philippe Coutinho

Adam Lallana is struggling with two broken ribs and despite wanting to play we think Coutinho will be preferred.
