From lowest to highest, read on to see the ten most expensive players on the books at Chelsea and PSG:

10) Willian (Chelsea, £25.5m)

9) Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea, £30m)

One of the best pieces of business this summer, Cesc Fabregas cost Chelsea £30m to sign from Barcelona, and he looks worth every penny.

8) Lucas Moura (PSG, £31.7m)

A player who has struggled for consistency at times, but Lucas Moura is one of PSG’s most expensive players at £31.7m, which seemed a big gamble given his age.

7) Eden Hazard (Chelsea, £32m)

A player now surely worth double his original fee, Chelsea star Eden Hazard came to the club from Lille for just £32m, and is now one of the best attacking midfielders in the world.

6) Diego Costa (Chelsea, £32m)

Signed from Atletico Madrid this summer, Diego Costa is another superb addition by the Blues after a great start to the season to justify his transfer fee.

5) Thiago Silva (PSG, £33m)

One of the best centre-backs in the world, Thiago Silva’s £33m signing from AC Milan was a major statement of intent by PSG when they brought him in.

4) Javier Pastore (PSG, £33m)

One of PSG’s first big-money buys since their Qatari takeover, Javier Pastore joined for £33m and remains one of the club’s biggest investments.

3) Fernando Torres (Chelsea, £50m)

Currently on loan at AC Milan, Fernando Torres remains one of the biggest wastes of money in the history of the game with his £50m transfer fee that brought him to the club from Liverpool back in 2011.

2) David Luiz (PSG, £50m)

The most expensive defender of all time, David Luiz made the surprise move from Chelsea to PSG this summer for a staggering £50m, which looked like a rash way to spend that kind of money, to say the least, though the Brazilian has performed fairly well with his new club.

1) Edinson Cavani (£55m)

The most expensive signing at either club and the 9th highest transfer fee of all time, PSG striker Edinson Cavani is top of this list and will hope to look more like a player worthy of that price tag with an improved performance against the Blues this season.
