With the notable exception of Monday night’s Premier League clash between Everton and Queens Park Rangers, this weekend’s round of fixtures in the English top flight have drawn to a close, with some shocking displays in amongst the fine performacnes of Arsenal and Manchester United.

This is our worst Premier League team of the weekend:

GK) Brad Jones (Liverpool)

Surprisingly brought into the United line up to replace the error prone Simon Mignolet, Jones will feel that he could’ve done more to prevent two of United’s three goals.

CB) Federico Fazio (Tottenham Hotspur)

Was really poor for Spurs all afternoon despite their win at Swansea and very fortunate that he didn’t cost his side a couple of cheap goals.

CB) Dejan Lovren (Liverpool)

Things don’t get any better for Dejan Lovren, who was restored to the Liverpool starting line-up for the trip to Old Trafford but looked edgy throughout and gifted the hosts their third with a poor clearance.

CB) Gary Cahill (Chelsea)

Chelsea may have beaten Hull City 2-0 at Stamford Bridge, but it was in spite of Gary Cahill rather than because of him. Should’ve been sent off for a high challenge on Sone Aluko and really should’ve gone for a ridiculous dive.

RWB) Kieran Richardson (Aston Villa)

Okay, strictly speaking, he plays on the left – but we had to shoehorn Kieran Richardson into this team on account of the brainless early lunge that got him sent off.

CM) Tom Cleverley (Aston Villa)

Simply allowed a local derby at the Hawthorns to pass him by, Cleverley was unable to impose himself on the game whether his team were in or out of possession.

CM) Tom Huddlestone (Hull City)

Actually did a reasonable job for Hull at Stamford Bridge for the most part, but has to be included for his dreadful tackle on Filipe Luis that deservedly earned Huddlestone a red card.

LWB) Alberto Moreno (Liverpool)

Showed the odd flash of inspiration going forwards, but Moreno was constantly targeted defensively and struggled, as his pathetic attempt to get back for the first goal showed.

ACM) Raheem Sterling (Liverpool)

Played in attack for Liverpool and, whilst he was constantly involved, Sterling was wasteful in possession and some of the chances that he missed would’ve been taken in an amateur game.

SC) Papiss Cisse (Newcastle United)

Cisse has been Newcastle’s man of the moment with some crucial goals lately, but he was utterly anonymous as the Magpies were beaten at the Emirates Stadium.

SC) Jozy Altidore (Sunderland)

The American international worked incredibly hard as ever, but his miss to put the Black Cats back in front was a shocker.
