GK) Petr Cech

Didn’t have a shot to save in the first half, but saved a Will Hughes effort early in the second when the game was still just 1-0 and in the balance. Hdd no chance against a lovely finish from Craig Bryson.

RB) Cesar Azpilicueta – 6.5

A good first half, but was given an unusually tough time by Derby’s second-half substitute Jordon Ibe.

CB) Kurt Zouma – 7

Performed admirably early on, until a nasty looking head injury forced José Mourinho to take the defender off.

CB) John Terry – 8

Commanding and composed despite continual abuse from Derby fans, one mistimed first half slide tackle aside.

LB) Felipe Luis – 9

Was Chelsea’s best attacking outlet in the first half, and scored a fantastic free-kick too. Really pushing for a first team spot. Man of the match.

CM) Nemanja Matic – 7

Solid in breaking up Derby attacks throughout. His size and strength were extremely useful as the physical battle raged in midfield.

CM) Jon Obi Mikel – 7

A composed presence, although perhaps a little slow to react as the ball broke out to Derby goalscorer Craig Bryson.

AML) Eden Hazard – 7.5

Broke the deadlock with a fine strike after a good run, and continued to menace the Derby back line until he was removed.

AMC) Cesc Fabregas – 7

Assisted the first and was influential as the Blues looked to control the game late on. A little quiet considering he was given a start as a number ten with two dedicated defensive midfielders behind him,

AMR) Andre Schurrlé – 6.5

Scored a simple finish late on, but struggled to get into the game once again. The Derby back line marshalled the wide man well.

ST) Didier Drogba – 8

Did well to win several  physical battles as the Chelsea defenders looked to play long balls into him. Taken off fairly early after picking up an injury.
