There is good news for fans of the Red Devils though as the Sun reports the Spaniard has told his current teammates he is staying put.

De Gea has 18 months remaining on his current contract at the Theatre of Dreams, but is prepared to sign a new five-year deal that will make the Spaniard the best paid ‘keeper in the world.

Club captain Wayne Rooney is one of those the 24-year-old has told he wants to stay and the England international has recently described the Spain international as the best stopper in world football.

Red Devils and Manchester City go head-to-head for FC Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic

Both Manchester sides are keen on the Croatia international who is already being linked with a £20m departure from the Nou Camp, according to the Daily Express.

Rakitic joined Barca from Sevilla over the summer in a £14m deal, but has since struggled to establish himself under head coach Luis Enrique.

The 26-year-old has made 20 appearances in all competitions this season and could be on his way to the Premier League in the near future.

David Moyes wants reunion with Adnan Januzaj at Real Sociedad

After revealing he is hoping to make some loan signings in the January transfer window Moyes has been linked with former star Januzaj.

According to the Daily Star the 19-year-old is on the wishlist of the Scot after previously working under the 51-year-old for 11 months at Old Trafford.

Januzaj was given his debut by Moyes and scored a match-winning brace against Sunderland, but has since struggled to establish himself under Louis van Gaal.

Phil Jones defends himself against those that criticise his fitness record

Jones played just his fifth match of the 2014/15 campaign on Sunday as United beat rivals Liverpool 3-0 in the league.

The England international has suffered with shin splints and a torn hamstring this term and since arriving from Blackburn Rovers in 2011 has struggled with several injuries, but the defender has hit out at his critics.

“I could stand here and list 10 players who are always out injured, and that is just the nature of football. People don’t wake up one morning and say ‘I fancy being injured today’. It’s just the way it is,” Jones was quoted by the Mirror.
