David Silva Names Arsenal Legend In Dream XI But No Room For Manchester City Team-Mates

Silva snubs Kompany, Toure, Aguero and others!

Manchester City playmaker David Silva has named his ‘dream XI’, and has controversially included no current Manchester City players in the team.

Many of his fellow Spaniards from the national team make it into the side, though he has also made the surprise choice to leave out influential midfield duo Xavi and Andres Iniesta.

Spain’s number one goalkeeper for over a decade now, Iker Casillas has won the World Cup and two European Championships with Silva.

DR: Cafu

One of the best right-backs of all time, Brazilian legend Cafu makes it into the side in this position.

DL: Roberto Carlos

Another Brazil legend, Roberto Carlos lines up on the opposite flank, making it in at left-back.

DC: Sergio Ramos

A world class centre-back for Real Madrid and Spain, Sergio Ramos has won all there is to win in the game and is one of the starting defenders here.

DC: Carles Puyol

Another Spanish legend, Carles Puyol makes it in alongside Ramos in Silva’s XI, having also formed part of the national side’s recent successes.

MC: Claude Makelele

A surprise choice, but former Chelsea and France defensive midfielder Claude Makelele is in ahead of the likes of Yaya Toure or Xavi in midfield.

MC: Patrick Vieira

Alongside Makelele, former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira also makes it into the team, though the Frenchman also had a spell alongside Silva at Manchester City.

MR: Michael Laudrup

A superbly skillful player, Danish maestro Michael Laudrup is selected on the right-hand side by Silva, who is a big fan of the former Real Madrid and Barcelona man.

ML: Luis Figo

Another La Liga legend, Luis Figo makes it on the left flank after a great career as one of the world’s best attacking midfielders.

FC: Lionel Messi

One of the best players of all time, current Barcelona forward Lionel Messi is an obvious choice upfront in Silva’s best XI.

FC: Ronaldo

In ahead of his team-mate Sergio Aguero or his namesake Cristiano Ronaldo, the Brazilian legend lines up alongside Messi in this selection.
