The Football Observatory, an independent think-tank which analyses transfers across global football, has published its latest data on the value of the world’s top players.

By comparing how much a player is worth compared with how much a team paid for them, we can see whether a team got good value or not.

Goal compared the summer’s most expensive transfers with the value calculated by the Football Observatory, and came up with some pretty interesting findings.
