Arsenal Ready To Pay Impressive £25m Fee For Barcelona Outcast

Arsenal aren’t short of forward at the moment, but they could be about to sign another…

Following the success of their signing of Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal will return to Barcelona to bid for another out of favour star, according to reports in the Portuguese press.

A Bola report that the Gunners are interested in making a €32m (£25m) bid for Pedro, the forward who has been an integral part of the Barca side over the last five years.

The North Londoners’ front line is very strong at the moment, with Joel Campbell and Lukas Podolski unable to get any game time as Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck’s excellent form up front continue.

Pedro’s form has declined over the last few seasons, and he hasn’t shown the same lethal touch he did earlier in his career. The signings of Luis Suarez and Neymar, as well as the emergence of youngsters like Munir el Haddadi, have forced the Spaniard down the pecking order at the Camp Nou.

He gave fans a glimpse of his best against Huesca in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday night, scoring a gorgeous hat-trick as the Catalan side ran out 8-1 winners, but that kind of display has been few and far between this season.

But Arsene Wenger will always back himself to get the best out of players, and the Frenchman has always been a fan of players brought up in the Barcelona academy, all of whom have excellent fundamental technical abilities.
