GK) David De Gea – 7

Made yet more vital stops to stop United falling further behind.

WBR) Antonio Valencia – 5

Had a great opportunity up against the shaky Matt Lowton in the second half but didn’t take advantage of it.

DC) Jonny Evans – 4.5

Dreadful in the first half, better in the second with Tyler Blackett alongside him.

DC) Michael Carrick – 5

Poor at the back but better when pushed forward into midfield in the second half.

DC) Phil Jones – 5.5

Matched up well with Christian Benteke in the air, but repeated poor clearances in the second half almost cost United the game.

WBL) Ashley Young – 5

Put in a great cross for Falcao’s opener, but followed it up with some poor balls straight to Brad Guzan.

MC) Darren Fletcher – 4

Subbed off at half time for Tyler Blackett. Looked sluggish and off the pace in the first period.

MC) Wayne Rooney – 6.5

Drifted deeper and deeper as United hunted for their winner. Worked hard with little to show for ir.

AMC) Juan Mata – 5

Well marshalled by Carlos Sanchez, who prevented the Spaniard getting the ball in areas where he could hurt Villa.

ST) Robin Van Persie – 5

Had a good effort saved and created a few chances but was a little quiet in comparison with recent games.

ST) Falcao – 6.5

Scored the equaliser with a strong header and caused trouble with his movement. Doesn’t yet look fully fit however.
