Gareth Bale (Real Madrid) £80m

Man United have apparently been given a green light to make a move for the Bernabeu wide-man according to the Daily Express.

The 25 year old has been a massive success since making his world record move to the Spanish capital in the summer of 2013 and has followed a superb debut season with a solid start to the current campaign.

Bale bagged 22 goals and a wealth of assists last term, during which he netted in both the Copa del Rey and Champions League finals.

The arrival of James Rodriguez and resurgence of Isco have threatened to force Bale out of Carlo Ancelotti’s starting eleven but Bale has not been found wanting, playing a key role in the club’s amazing 22 match winning streak.

Louis van Gaal may well want Bale but one imagines that such a deal is highly unlikely to come to fruition.

Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid) £40m

Man United are on alert following reports that Sergio Ramos’s future at Real Madrid is uncertain according to the Daily Star.

The 28 year old has been locked in contract talks with his Bernabeu employers for some time and though the Spanish international’s current deal runs until 2017 this ource claims that if a new deal can not be thrashed out then Real Madrid may consider selling the former Sevilla man.

Louis van Gaal will certainly be considering moves to strengthen his defence and could well do with a strong central defensive option, with Ramos helpfully also being adept at playing at right-back.

This source claims it would cost around £40m to land Ramos and though clearly that’s a massive fee it would be fair to say that the Real Madrid man is perhaps one of the best in his position in world football at the present time.

Enzo Perez (Benfica) £23.5m

Man United boss Louis van Gaal has sets his sights on Benfica midfielder Enzo Perez according to the Daily Star.

Van Gaal sent scouts to track Enzo Perez as Benfica take on Gil Vicente on Sunday and the Premier League side are ready to player’s £23.5m transfer release clauses.

28 year old midfielder Perez was instrumental in his side’s superb campaign in 2013/14, when Jorge Jesus’s side secured four trophies, including the Primeira Liga title.

Nicolas Gaitan (Benfica) £27.5m

Man United are also interested in Argentine wide-man Nicolas Gaitan.

Winger Gaitan has long been on the Man United radar and though the 26 year old only signed a new contract with the Lisbon outfit last month it is believed he is still very much a Man United target.

Edinson Cavani (PSG) £50m

Man United are set to launch a £50m bid for PSG forward Edinson Cavani according to the Metro.

Old Trafford boss Louis van Gaal is apparently desperate to land the 27 year old Parc des Princes star and the Urugyuayan is apparently certain to leave the Paris outfit in the new year.

Though Arsenal and Liverpool are also keen it is Man United who lead the chase for the former Napoli man and any move for Cavani would seemingly lead to an end to their push to bring in loaned in striker Radamel Falcao on a permanent basis.

Cavani moved to PSG in July 2013 and since day one there have been reports about his unhappiness about his usual role out wide, so as to accommodate star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, though this has in no way affected his goal-scoring prowess.

The powerful forward has bagged a healthy tally of 38 goals in 65 appearances for PSG and scored an astonishing 104 goals in three seasons in Naples and is well equipped to do well in the overly physical confines of the Premier League.
