Sunday’s biggest stories for the Red Devils.

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale set to join Manchester United next summer

Bale could be set for an Old Trafford move after all, two years on from when he completed a world record switch to Madrid.

According to the Sunday Express the Wales international will be available to sign at the end of the season for £80m.

The Red Devils tried to land the 25-year-old in 2013 before he completed his £85.3m move to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

Nicolas Gaitan, Enzo Perez and Kevin Strootman being lined up in £80m triple swoop

The spending doesn’t end there either with manager Louis van Gaal eyeing up a triple raid in the January transfer window.

The Daily Star reports that Benfica duo Gaitan and Perez are wanted for a combined fee of £51m, whilst long-term target Strootman is also being targeted.

The AS Roma midfielder is likely to set the 13-time Premier League champions around £30m.

Aston Villa want to make Tom Cleverley’s loan move permanent in January

Villa are looking to complete the permanent signing of Cleverley when the window opens on January 1 in a £7.5m deal, according to the Mirror.

Paul Lambert has been greatly impressed with the midfielder since he arrived at Villa Park and wants to land the Englishman before anyone else.

Cleverley’s current deal at the Theatre of Dreams expires next summer.

Marco Reus snubs Premier League and agrees to join Madrid

Interested English clubs in the Borussia Dortmund star have been dealt a blow with the news that Reus has agreed to join Los Blancos.

According to the Sunday Express, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and United are all to be left disappointed as the German wants to move to La Liga.

Reus has a very well documented £20m release clause that becomes active at the end of this term.

Man United tried to sign Bojan when he was a teenager

According to the father of the Stoke City forward both the Red Devils and the Blues were interested in his son back when he was a FC Barcelona trainee.

Bojan has had a varied career to date with spells at AC Milan and Ajax – as well as Barca and now the Potteries –  and his dad says he could have arrived in England so much earlier.

“I remember United were interested in him when he was 16 at Barcelona. Chelsea were very serious, too, a year or two later, just before he signed a new deal,” Bojan senior told the Mail on Sunday.
