Here are seven players who have been linked to a move between the leagues, ranked by how good of a signing they would be.

7) Christoph Kramer, Borussia Monchengladbach

The defensive midfielder would be perfect for Arsenal as they look to add defensive solidity to their midfield. He has been linked to the Gunners for £20 million and at only 23-years-old he could be a fine addition for years to come.

However, he does not have the proven pedigree of some of the players on this list, and as such would represent more of a risk if he were signed.

6) Lars Bender, Bayer Leverkusen

Another defensive midfielder, another player linked to Arsenal.  Bender would be a similar signing to Kramer, although with a couple of extra years experience at 25-years-old.

Again, he could be a good signing but he does not have the reputation of some of the other players here.

5) Kevin De Bruyne, Wolfsburg

The Belgian was sold by Chelsea just six months ago, but his form at new side Wolfsburg has been so good that he is already being rumoured to return to the Premier League with Manchester City.

If he were to be signed by the league champions then he might be extra motivated by the opportunity to prove Jose Mourinho wrong.

4) Xherdan Shaqiri, Bayern Munich

The Swiss international proved his ability at the 2014 World Cup, but has been unable to play regularly in to a great Bayern Munich team. As such, he has been linked to several clubs including Liverpool.

He could be a massive to an ailing Reds side if they managed to snap him up.

3) Mats Hummels, Borussia Dortmund

Having been strongly rumoured to be moving to Manchester United since last summer, although Arsenal have also shown an interest. The World Cup winner could finally make a move next month.

With current club Borussia Dortmund struggling then he could well be one of the first rats to leave the sinking ships in January.

2) Arjen Robben, Bayern Munich

The Dutchman is one of the best players in the world, and would be a great addition to any team in Europe. Manchester United have been linked, with manager Louis van Gaal having worked with the winger in his former job as his national team manager.

1) Marco Reus, Borussia Dortmund

The German has had stories written about him joining almost every big club in Europe over the last six months. Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool have been linked from the Premier League, and he has the ability to be one of the division’s best players were he to make the move.
