GK – David de Gea, Manchester United

The goalkeeper was one of the few players to come of David Moyes’ ill fated 11 months in charge with any credit and the Spaniard has been even more influential this time around.

RB – Seamus Coleman, Everton

Injuries have hampered this right-back’s progress this term, but when Coleman is on the pitch he has looked sharp and the goals the Republic of Ireland international scored last time out were crucial to the Toffees’ success.

CB – Gary Cahill, Chelsea

Made it into the PFA Team of the Year in 2013/14 and is likely to do the same this time around as Jose Mourinho once again builds success on a solid back line.

CB – John Terry, Chelsea

Completing an all Blues central defence is a club legend who has been reinvigorated under Mourinho and has been vital to any success the team has had over the past 12 months.

LB – Cesar Azpilicueta, Chelsea

Many were surprised when Ashley Cole lost his place at left-back to this right-sided defender, but Azpilicueta has adapted better than most would have thought and has recently been described as the best defender in the league by Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville.

RM – Raheem Sterling, Liverpool

Brendan Rodgers may not be the most successful in the transfer market, but his coaching is impeccable and this 20-year-old has developed brilliantly under the Northern Irishman’s guidance.

CM – Yaya Toure, Manchester City

This campaign may not have been as good for the 31-year-old, but his goals last time out were vital to the Citizens winning their second English title in three years.

CM – Morgan Schneiderlin, Southampton

Despite the fact five key players left St Mary’s over the summer it is the one who stayed who has outshone them all and Schneiderlin has continued his fine form from last season.

LM – Eden Hazard, Chelsea

Although the West Londoners finished third last term their dominance this time around means they have several players in this team and Hazard is looking like a potential PFA Player of the Year candidate once again.

ST – Luis Suarez, Liverpool

May have actually left the English top tier over the summer, but for his goalscoring prowess that earned the Reds a second place finish and Suarez the PFA Player of the Year award, he had to be included.

ST – Wilfried Bony, Swansea City

With more league goals than any other player this calendar year the Ivory Coast international has to be included and Bony has proven to be a real coup for the Swans.
