How Arsenal Fans Hope Their XI Will Look Post-January Transfer Window, With £26m Barcelona Star & £20m Liverpool Target

An improved lineup for the Gunners from January onwards.

Arsenal are expected to be one of the busiest clubs in this January’s transfer window, with new signings needed in a number of different areas of the pitch after a slow start to the season.

The Gunners are being linked with a number of players, mostly in defence and midfield, and could also bring in a new attacker to improve their options in that position, according to recent reports.

Here’s a run-through of a possible new-look XI Arsene Wenger could be able to field for the second half of the season…

Goalkeeper and defence:

Despite rumoured interest in Chelsea’s Petr Cech, it seems likely that Wojciech Szczesny will remain number one goalkeeper for now, but a major change could happen at centre-back with Winston Reid looking likely to leave West Ham United and attracting interest from both Arsenal and Liverpool. The £20m defender could be an ideal replacement for the underperforming Per Mertesacker.

Midfield:

With the likes of Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Jack Wilshere far from good enough this season, Arsenal could unveil an entirely new midfield partnership this winter as they reportedly target both Morgan Schneiderlin of Southampton and Cruzeiro starlet Lucas Silva.

Attack:

With Theo Walcott almost permanently injured and Lukas Podolski possibly leaving, Arsenal could be lining up an exciting £26m move to sign Barcelona winger Pedro, who can fill in a number of attacking midfield roles and provide the team with another goal threat.
