How Arsenal First XI Will Look If Gunners Legend’s Preferred Signings Of Hummels And Schneiderlin Go Ahead

The Gunners have been inconsistent this season…

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has said that the club should sign Mats Hummels and Morgan Schneiderlin in the next transfer window. Both players have been linked to a move to the Emirates Stadium, but nothing solid has been heard about either moving clubs.

Here is how the first XI should look if the former winger gets his way…

GK) Wojciech Szczesny

The Pole’s position in the side has been under threat recently by back up keeper Damian Martinez.

DR) Mathieu Debuchy

The full-back signed in the summer, and has been forced out of position to centre-back recently by injuries.

DL) Kieran Gibbs

England international Gibbs has been in and out with fitness problems, but when fit is a top class left-back.

CB) Mats Hummels

The German has been pinpointed by Parlour as a perfect signing to bolster the back line at the North London club.

CB) Laurent Koscielny

The centre-back will be the player to partner Hummels if he is able to get fit. The fact that the German and Per Mertesacker tend to play on the same side of the central pairing helps the Frenchman to stay in the team.

CM) Morgan Schneiderlin

The defensive midfielder would add some much needed defensive nous to the Gunners’ midfield. They have been missing this with Mathieu Flamini their only recognised player in this role at the moment.

CM) Aaron Ramsey

The Welshman has been out of form this season, but will hopefully find the performances he was putting in last campaign again in the near future.

CAM) Mesut Ozil

Currently injured, Ozil should be on his way back to the first XI soon.

LW) Theo Walcott

Another who has been on the sidelines this season, the winger could be coming back to full fitness in the new year.

RW) Alexis Sanchez

The Chilean has almost turned the North London club in to a one man team so far this season. He shouldn’t have as much pressure on himself if the side is improved to the extent it is here.

ST) Olivier Giroud

Danny Welbeck could be forced to the bench in favour of the Frenchman should the squad come back to something near to full health.
