Here is the list in full, featuring only the goals players have scored in their domestic league:

10) Carlos Tevez (Juventus, 18 goals)

The former West Ham, Man United and Man City striker fired Juventus to a third successive Serie A title last season, and has kicked off the current campaign with ten goals in just 15 games.

9) Charlie Austin (Queens Park Rangers, 19 goals)

Eight of Austin’s goals came as QPR secured promotion to the Premier League via the play-off’s. But the England hopeful has also been in prolific form this season, and is currently the top English scorer in the division.

8) Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Paris Saint Germain, 19 goals)

The big Swede fired PSG to the title earlier this year, and his goals have put them back on their way again this term, although they currently sit in third – three points behind leaders Marseille, and one behind Lyon.

7) Diego Costa (Atletico Madrid / Chelsea, 19 goals)

The Spanish striker spend the first half of the season inspiring Atletico Madrid to an unlikely La Liga title win, ahead of long-time rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona. He’s since continued that form in the Premier League with Chelsea.

6) Wilfried Bony (Swansea City, 20 goals)

The highest ranking Premier League player on the list, the Ivorian has been key to Swansea’s success over the last 18 months, and has eased the loss of former star striker Michu, who is now toiling on loan at Napoli.

5) Andre-Pierre Gignac (Marseille, 20 goals)

The 29-year-old veteran has inspired his club side’s excellent star to the season, and ensured them top spot at the half-way stage. His 12 league goals so far this season represent an excellent return.

4) Antonio Di Natale (Udinese, 21 goals)

An extraordinary return from a player now 37-years-old. His overall tally for Udinese in league football, since joining from Empoli in 2004, is now 188 in 350 games, while he has netted eight of those this season.

3) Alexandre Lacazette (Lyon, 23 goals)

The French international has netted 18 of those goals this season, with that tally coming in just 19 games. A reported transfer target for Liverpool, Lyon are going to face a fight to hold on to their star man.

2) Lionel Messi (Barcelona, 35 goals)

The perennial contender for goalscoring awards, Lionel Messi might not have had the best year by his own high standards, but he’s certainly not had a bad one – as his incredible 35 goal tally proves.

1) Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid, 38 goals)

No surprise to find Messi’s long time rival at the top of the list. The Portuguese star might have missed out on the La Liga title last season, but has certainly not been short on goals, and has continued that again this year.
