Can anyone top the year that Manchester United’s David de Gea has had?

10) Asmir Begovic, Stoke City

The Bosnian has had another solid year at the Britannia Stadium. He could one day earn a move to club playing in Europe if he manages to carry on this form.

9) Wojciech Szczesny, Arsenal

Arsenal’s number one is another who has had a good, if not spectacular year. Doubts remain if he is good enough should the Gunners want to launch a real title challenge.

8) Adrian, West Ham United

Adrian has managed to oust long time Sam Allardyce favourite Jussi Jaaskelainen out of the number one jersey at Upton Park, and has proceeded to continue that form throughout 2014.

7) Lukasz Fabianski, Arsenal/Swansea City

The Swans were lucky to sign the former Gunner after he had impressed on the occasions that he had to deputise for Szczesny in the past. He has the second most clean sheets in the Premier League this season.

6) Petr Cech, Chelsea

The 32-year-old was his usual top class self when in the first team last season. However, he has lost his place since the arrival of Thibaut Courtois.

5) Fraser Forster, Southampton

The England international has been a key part of the Saints’ brilliant start to the season.

4) Joe Hart, Manchester City

Hart has overcome doubts about his place in the side to continue as the undoubted number one at the Etihad Stadium.

3) Thibaut Courtois, Chelsea

The Belgian has managed to knock one of the best goalies in the world of his perch, and has been brilliant since his return to his parent club. He would be higher had he not only arrived in the summer.

2) Hugo Lloris, Tottenham

One of the best stoppers in the world, Lloris deserves better than having the Spurs defence in front of him. A move to Real Madrid has been rumoured, and he would be mad to turn it down.

1) David de Gea, Manchester United

His performances have almost single handedly kept the Red Devils from having another poor season, and he was in similar form at the end of last season.
