Liverpool Looking Into Signing £70m Strike Duo To Solve Goalscoring Crisis

As we approach that wonderful time of the year once again, the transfer window, CaughtOffside decided to look at the biggest potential January loan deals that have been touted in the latest reports.

Adnan Januzaj – Paris Saint Germain

French giants Paris Saint Germain are keen on signing the young Belgian on loan in the January window as they seek to bolster their forward line and return to the top of Ligue 1.

Louis Van Gaal is also said to be keen on sending Januzaj out on loan according to the Daily Mail and sees it as the catalyst to the player’s development and the key to his long-term United future.

Yaya Sanogo – Crystal Palace

Arsenal mis-fit Sanogo has never been able to nail down a starting position at the Emirates since his surprise transfer from the French Ligue 1 in 2013.

With Arsenal’s plethora of attacking options, the Daily Mirror claims Arsene Wenger wishes take advantage of the situation and send the France U-21 striker on loan in the hope it provides him goals, games and boosts his confidence.

Mohamed Salah – Besiktas

The Blues Egyptian winger only rocked up in West London last January and has started just a handful of games this season but could be set for a Chelsea exit 12 months after joining.

The Independent reports that Besiktas club present Fikrit Orman is keen on a move for the former Basel forward and is likely to get him with the clubs enjoying a special relationship since the summer deal to send Demba Ba to Turkey.

Aaron Lennon – QPR

The mercurial winger was thought to be close to a Spurs exit in the summer as new boss Mauricio Pochettino does not see him as part of the North London side’s future.

However, a deal with QPR never materialised but the West London club are thought to be eager to return for Lennon in January say the Daily Telegraph.

A loan is preferred before trying to wrangle a permanent deal in the summer.

Mario Balotelli – Napoli

Liverpool’s Balotelli gamble looks set to be given up on with the Daily Mail reporting the Italian could be in for a shock return to Serie A just six months after leaving.

It was always going to be a risky decision by Brendan Rodgers to purchase Balotelli but the Liverpool boss would never have imagined it could would have imploded by January.

Petr Cech – Liverpool

The jig definitely seems to be up for Mignolet at Liverpool with the ever nervous Brad Jones actually now preferred to the Belgian stopper in the starting XI.

Which is why there are stories appearing about Liverpool’s possible interest in a number of January goalkeeping targets, the most likely however seems to be the Metro’s claim the Reds are after now benched Chelsea legend Petr Cech.

The Czech captain has been benched since Thibaut Courtois returned from a three year loan at Atletico Madrid and may see January as the perfect time to leave the West Londoners on a temporary basis to maintain his form.

Whether Jose Mourinho can be convinced to help a rival, however, remains to be seen.

Xherdan Shaqiri – Liverpool

Shaqiri’s move to Bayern hasn’t exactly proved to be the revelation he would have hoped with the Swiss youngster unable to establish himself in the Germain giant’s immensely talented squad.

There have been whispers Shaqiri could attempt to fix an exit from Bavaria and the Liverpool Echo claim the Reds are in line to make a loan-bid for the forward to boost their top four aspirations.

However, Shaqiri’s brother has said the 23 year old may wait until summer to try and drive through any future plans.

Lukas Podolski – Roma

Podolski is seemingly thought to be surplus to requirements at the Emirates with a number of names ahead of him in the pecking order and the German international afforded just two starts in all competitions this season, and none of those coming in the league.

Roma could be about to provide the former Koln man with the perfect opportunity for a new year challenge in Italy as they seek cover for Gervinho as he competes in the African Cup of Nations.

However, the London Evening Standard believes the Arsenal man’s £90,000 a week wages could prove to be a big stumbling block.
