The 21 year old is pretty much a bit-part player at the Emirates Stadium and his first team chances have been dealt a blow following the summer arrivals of Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck and Arsene Wenger is apparently open to the idea of loaning out the youngster.

Lorient have already been in contact with Arsenal over a potential January switch with Sylvain Ripoll’s side sitting just above the relegation zone.

Sanogo moved to Arsenal from Auxerre in July 2013 but has made just two Premier League starts this term, subbed on both occasions, but could perhaps get a chance to impress with Olivier Giroud now being suspended for three fixtures following his sending off against QPR on Boxing Day.

Yaya Sanogo netted his first, and to date only, senior goal for Arsenal in late November during their Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund.
