Tottenham Hotspur 2-2 Manchester United

These two attacking teams almost always provide goals when they meet. Their last five clashes have produced 18 goals, with both sides scoring in each of those games.

Southampton 0-2 Chelsea

The Saints have had a brilliant first half of the season, but their success has been built on beating the ‘lesser teams’. Southampton have lost their league games against Spurs, Man City, Man United and Arsenal this season. Leaders Chelsea will probably be too strong and Jose Mourinho’s men should pick up three points to keep them clear of City at the top of the table.

Aston Villa 2-1 Sunderland

Villa rarely get blown away – they have not lost a game by two or more goals since October. Paul Lambert’s men will continue to scrap and that battling spirt should be enough to see off Sunderland, who are notoriously inconsistent.

Hull City 2-0 Leicester City

Having gone 10 games without a win, Hull got a vital three points on Boxing Day, coming from behind to beat Sunderland 3-1. That victory will have given Steve Bruce’s side a huge confidence boost. Confidence is something Leicester are very low on – their defeat to Spurs on Friday was their 10th in 11 outings.

Manchester City 4-0 Burnley

City have won their last nine games and they should have no trouble extending that run to 10 matches. Burnley may make City’s job even easier by resting a few key players ahead of their slightly more winnable games which are coming up in the New Year.

QPR 3-1 Crystal Palace

Palace’s preparations for this game have been thrown into chaos by the sacking of manager Neil Warnock. QPR, who put in a good account of themselves in a 2-1 loss at Arsenal last time out, should punish the Eagles.

Stoke City 0-0 West Brom

The Potters have had some crazy results this season, beating Man City, Spurs, Arsenal and Everton, but losing to Burnley, Sunderland and Leicester. This game should be very tight – there have been just four goals in the last four meetings between Stoke and the Baggies, including two 0-0s.

West Ham United 2-1 Arsenal

The Hammers will start this game ahead of the Gunners in the Premier League table. Sam Allardyce will fancy his side’s chances of staying above Arsene Wenger’s men going into 2015, especially as the North London side often struggle away from home against well organised teams.

Newcastle United 1-1 Everton

Alan Pardew’s Newcastle have lost their last four matches, but that run includes games at Arsenal, Spurs and Man United, as well as a desperately unlucky defeat to Sunderland. The Magpies are still a very good team and they should push Everton all the way.

Liverpool 2-1 Swansea City

It won’t be easy for Liverpool, but the Reds could have just enough to win by the same scoreline which saw them edge past the Swans at Anfield in the League Cup earlier this season.
