1) Eliaquim Mangala – Manchester City

He may yet still come good, but judging on the £32m Mangala cost, he’s looking like a serious summer transfer flop right now. The Frenchman simply couldn’t cope with Danny Ings’ quick feet, and he looked nervous in possession, too.

2) Cesc Fabregas – Chelsea

Fabregas was booked for diving in the penalty box, much to his fury. His manager Jose Mourinho reckoned it was a penalty, but his side are developing somewhat of a reputation for theatrics, with the booking the fourth racked up by Blues stars for diving this term. Apart from his yellow, the Spaniard did ‘ok’, but failed to break down a stubborn Southampton late on.

3) Roberto Martinez – Everton

The Spaniard needs to get his team playing quickly, or he’ll get himself sacked. Everton have now lost five of their past six matches – and were defensively atrocious against Newcastle today – falling to a 3-2 defeat.

2) Stephen Quinn – Hull

Hull needed to win today against bottom-placed Leicester, but they fell to a tame 0-1 defeat, and Stephen Quinn stupidly got himself sent off for a straight Red late on. Steve Bruce’s side are now level on points with 19th placed Burnley.

1) Alan Irvine – West Brom

Irvine is now the favourite for the sack of all the Premier League managers. His Baggies side have lost their past three matches, and seven of their past nine. That’s relegation form.
