£200m: Manchester United Linked With Astonishing January Triple Swoop After Van Gaal Is Given Huge Budget

The source of the rumour, football journalist Tancredi Palmeri, has claimed that the Red Devils hierarchy could be set to give van Gaal the green light to bring in these three exciting world class stars:

Gareth Bale (Real Madrid)

Manchester United are believed to be interested in bringing Welsh international Gareth Bale back to the Premier League – and Real Madrid are considering selling him if they can make a profit on the world record fee they handed to Tottenham Hotspur, with £120m suggested as an acceptable a fee. The big stumbling block, however, is that Bale is not interested in the move.

Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund)

With Jurgen Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund side floundering this season and in the Bundesliga relegation zone as German football heads into its winter hiatus, it is expected that German international centre back Mats Hummels could be tempted away from Signal Iduna Park. Dortmund are likely to want £40m for the world class centre back, however.

Kevin Strootman (AS Roma)

A player who has long been admired by United manager Louis van Gaal is AS Roma playmaker Kevin Strootman, who has recently returned to action in Serie A following a long term injury lay off. Roma are unlikely to want to sell a player who has been superb for them since joining from PSV Eindhoven, however – with even £40m possibly not being enough to sign the Dutch international.
