Rossoneri boss Pippo Inzaghi elected to bring in Fernando Torres on a permanent deal and then loaned him out to Atletico Madrid, with the former Chelsea man likely to leave the Serie A side in the summer.

Torres failed to net regularly and now Inzaghi has his sights set on Spaniard Soldado, though one wonders if AC Milan will be willing and able to make an offer that White Hart Lane chairman Daniel Levy would accept.

Soldado has managed just seven goals in 40 Premier League fixtures, four of which were from the spot, but Tottenham paid Valencia £26m for the Spanish international around 18 months ago and will surely demand a decent chunk of that outlay from AC Milan

Luiz Adriano of Shakhtar is another who interests Inzaghi and could prove a cheaper alternative.
