10. Frank Lampard – Chelsea 2004-05
Assists: 10
Lampard was in the infancy of his Stamford Bridge career when he began to establish himself not just as a prolific goalscorer from centre-midfield, but also as a creative tour de force, too.
9. Robert Pires – Arsenal 2000-01
Assists: 10
The Frenchman was a missing piece of the jigsaw for Wenger when he arrived in north London, and provided much ammunition for both Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp.
8. Ruel Fox – Newcastle United 1994-95
Assists: 10
The speedy winger was often underrated during his Premier League career, but the England B international played his part in a very strong Newcastle side before departing for Spurs.
7. Antonio Valencia – Manchester United 2011-12
Assists: 11
In 2011 Valencia was finally allowed to spread his wings at United and made a real claim for being one of the Premier League’s most creative stars. Those days seem like a long time ago now.
6. Wayne Rooney – Manchester United 2010-11
Assists: 11
Rooney stepped up in the absence of Ronaldo and Tevez to take on the extra responsibility of creating as many as he scored, and he was pretty darn good at it, too.
5. Nolberto Solano – Newcastle United 1999-00
Assists: 11
Solano is another criminally underrated player from Premier League history. A joy to watch, his goals and assists helped the Magpies to a mini revival at the turn of the century.
4. Cesc Fabregas – Arsenal 2007-08
Assists: 11
The young Spaniard didn’t take long to impose himself on the side and become established as one of the Premier League’s most creative artisans.
3. Cesc Fabregas – Arsenal 2009-10
Assists: 11
Two seasons later, Fabregas did it again, like it was no big deal.
2. Muzzy Izzet – Leicester City 2003-04
Assists: 12
Despite starting off the season in fine fettle, the Turkish international chipped in with 12 assists before the new year. Sadly, though, it wasn’t enough to keep them in the division as they slipped back down to the Championship.
1. Cesc Fabregas – Chelsea 2014-15
Assists: 13
He’s done it again, proving that his spell in Spain meant that he hadn’t lost his touch in England. Though, it’s not hard to create so many chances when you play alongside the likes of Hazard, Oscar and Diego Costa.
