The list comprises players that have struggled with form and fitness over the last few months, and are ready to make a triumphant return to the top of their game in the near future:

10) Jonas Gutierrez (Newcastle United)

Has been with Newcastle 2008 and remains a firm fan favourite. Has been battling testicular cancer since September, but is now closing in on a return, having played in an Under-21 game. His return will be greeted well at St. James’ Park.

9) Jay Rodriguez (Southampton)

The forgotten man at Southampton. He had aspirations of making the England squad until suffering an injury in April. Suffered a minor setback in November, but will still be hopeful of making an impact late in the season.

8) Andy Carroll (West Ham United)

West Ham’s record signing has only managed 24 league appearances in the last 18 months, scoring just five times. But having netted three times in the last five games, Hammers fans will be hopeful they’re about to see Carroll at his best.

7) Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool)

Has not featured since the first month of the season, and his absence has cost Liverpool both domestically, and in Europe – with their Champions League campaign having already come to an end. The Reds sorely need him back soon.

6) Andros Townsend (Tottenham Hotspur)

Has struggled to hold down a first team place and has also suffered his fair share of injuries. But he’s shown in an England shirt earlier this year what huge potential he has. A move might be required before we see his best.

5) Andre Schurrle (Chelsea)

The German World Cup winner has regularly impressed from the bench, but has struggled to impress from the start of games. Chelsea have all the weapons to allow him to play his best, and he needs to make the most of his chances next year.

4) Romelu Lukaku (Everton)

Has managed seven goals in 25 games so far this season, a somewhat disappointing return considering his elaborate price tag. The Belgian has proved over the last two years that he can be a far more regular scorer, and will want to continue that record.

3) Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal)

Was one of the star players of last season, but has struggled to make the same impact so far this year, with just six goals in all competitions – substantially less than at the same stage last term. Has the ability to improve in 2015.

2) Adam Lallana (Liverpool)

Enjoyed his best performance in a Liverpool shirt in the club’s most recent game against Swansea City on Monday evening. Scored twice and impressed throughout as part of a front three. Considering the price tag, he will need to do more of the same.

1) Radamel Falcao (Manchester United)

His huge wages and potential price tag at the end of the season mean he needs to start delivering. His injury issues look to be behind him at last, and he grabbed a crucial goal against Aston Villa. Needs to find some consistency.
