5. West Ham United – 9 Points

Sam Allardyce has masterminded a renaissance at West Ham this season after acquiring a reputation for Stone Age tactics.

The Hammers could conceivably finish in the top four or more likely Europe due to their winning exploits and comeback wins so far this season.

4. Tottenham Hotspur – 9 Points

It’s been a tumultuous start in North London for Mauricio Pochettino with Spurs’ home form calling into question some of his tactical and team decisions.

However, they have oddly excelled on the road with their last-gasp turnaround wins, such as their victories over Swansea and Aston Villa, the reason they’re still competing for the top four at the turn of the year.

3. Manchester City – 9 Points

Frank Lampard is responsible for probably the best remembered last gasp points winner for City this season – snatching a point against his former club Chelsea at the Etihad in September.

2. Newcastle United – 10 Points

Newcastle fans may finally have got their wish with Alan Pardew finally leaving the club but he oversaw a remarkable comeback for the Magpies after a difficult start.

Their resurgence was typified in their smash and grab win over Tottenham Hotspur, scoring just seconds after the 2nd half kick off and eventually winning 2-1.

1. Chelsea – 10 Points

Unsurprisingly, the league leaders have managed to rescue the most amount of points this season which may go some way into explaining how they went unbeaten until December.

Perhaps it should have been expected when Chelsea kicked off the season as they meant to go on. They conceded the first goal to Burnley but recovered to smash the Lancashire side 3-1.
