Not every record is a good one, as these six players will attest. Not one player scored three Premier League own goals in 2014, but six managed two, taking the joint high for Premier League own goals in the calendar year. Here they are:

Martin Skrtel (Liverpool)

The Slovakian is usually commanding at the back for Liverpool, but can also be seen as quite a clumsy performer.

Nedum Onuoha (Queens Park Rangers)

Despite his side only returning to the Premier League half way through the year, Onuoha has already bagged two own goals.

Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)

A goal machine at the other end, Tottenham striker Harry Kane has managed to put two in the wrong net as well.

John Terry (Chelsea)

The Chelsea skipper has scored a few goals during his career and can add another two from 2014 to his collection.

Wes Brown (Sunderland)

Former Manchester United centre back Wes Brown has two own goals for Sunderland during 2014.

Seamus Coleman (Everton)

Everton right back Seamuas Coleman is not just a threat on the attack – he has a tendency to find the net at the wrong end too.
