Here are what we think are Steven Gerrard’s top 10 goals for Liverpool:

10) Vs Middlesbrough – 2008

With the scores level after 90 minutes, Liverpool looked as though they would have to settle for a point against Middlesbrough. Steven Gerrard popped up with this stunner however, snatching all three points right at the death.

9) Vs Manchester United – 2012

The Liverpool captain showed fantastic technique to give his side the lead against Manchester United, volleying through a crowd of bodies and beating the keeper.

8) Vs Aston Villa – 2007

Gerrard is known for his superb free kicks, and they don’t come much sweeter than this one. With three minutes to go in the game against Villa, this strike sealed all three points.

7) Vs Everton – 2001

After falling behind against their arch rivals, this top quality finish was the catalyst that started a 3-1 comeback.

6) Vs Sheffield Wednesday – 1999

Gerrard’s first goal for Liverpool, and what a way to announce yourself.

5) Vs Manchester United – 2001

This absolute wonderstrike gave Liverpool the win over their Premier League rivals, as well as their first league double in 22 years.

4) Vs West Ham United – 2006

Gerrard’s second goal in the 2006 FA Cup final, a fantastic long range effort that kept Liverpool in the tie.

3) Vs Olympiakos – 2004

Although he didn’t realise it at the time, this goal provided the platform for Liverpool to go on and win the Champions League.

2) Vs AC Milan – 2005

Perhaps not the best of Gerrard’s goals, but possibly his most important ever. Sparking one of the greatest comebacks in history, this goal set Liverpool on the path to their fifth European Cup.
