The Carolina Panthers will host the Arizona Cardinals at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on Saturday in a wild-card playoff game.

The Panthers (7-8-1) are the second team with a losing record to reach the post-season after the Seattle Seahawks in 2010, but they are also the first team to earn back-to-back NFC South titles.

In addition, they are also in a rich vein of form after winning four straight to end the regular season and their new-look secondary will be relishing the prospect of facing quarterback Ryan Lindley in his first career playoff game.

Carolina have yielded just 43 points over the last four weeks, with only Seattle giving up fewer (33), and they will be looking to extend that good run when they face a Cardinals team denied a chance to field either their first or second choice signal-caller.

Lindley is 1-5 as a starter in the NFL but he had his most impressive game of his career in San Francisco last week where he finished with two touchdowns, three interceptions and a career-high 316 yards.

Coach Bruce Arians is confident that Lindley will not be overawed by the occasion, while he is also particularly wary of the threat of opposite number Cam Newton.

Newton is 0-2 against the Cardinals, finishing with no touchdowns and three interceptions in a 22-6 loss back in October 2013, but he will be hopeful of improving on that in this crunch clash as the Panthers look to use their momentum to their advantage.
