Liverpool Have €14m Offer On The Table For Bayern Munich Star

Reds face huge competition for flying winger Xherdan Shaqiri.

Liverpool have a €14 million bid currently on the table for Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri, reports Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio, but they will need to beat off competition from Serie A duo Juventus and Inter Milan if they are to land the impressive Swiss international during the course of the January transfer window.

Di Marzio reports that the three clubs interested in signing Shaqiri are taking very different approaches to the transfer – with Liverpool having put their offer on the table for Bayern to consider, but not yet having made contact with the player himself, an option that has been taken up by Juventus and Inter, with the former having reportedly already agreed personal terms.

This could be because the Reds have already spoken to Shaqiri’s representatives in the summer when an Anfield move was mooted, but the proactive approach of their Serie A rivals in wooing Shaqiri will certainly be of concern to Reds fans desperate to see some top class talent arrive at the club during the winter window.

Shaqiri has made just three Bundesliga starts for Bayern this season as he finds himself stuck behind Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery in the Allianz Arena pecking order, leading to Pep Guardiola’s side considering allowing his departure.
