This means that Spurs could be on the lookout for a new man between the sticks in the near future, and here are five players who could fill the new hole in Mauricio Pochettino’s side…

Petr Cech, Chelsea

The Chelsea ace has found himself out of the first team this season, as Thibaut Courtois has made the position his own through the campaign. He is still an amazing keeper and would be great for the North London club. However, it is doubtful whether Jose Mourinho would sell him to his rivals.

Norberto Neto, Fiorentina

The Brazilian has been linked fairly strongly to Liverpool in recent times, and with the 25-year-old’s contract ending at the end of the season he could be cheap. Tottenham could look to hijack the deal.

Guillermo Ochoa, Malaga

A star at the World Cup, Ochoa has found it hard to break in to the side at his new club Malaga. As such the Mexican may be allowed to leave the La Liga club in the either the current transfer window or the next, meaning Pochettino could swoop.

Mattia Perin, Genoa

The 22-year-old is apparently in talks with Liverpool at the moment, but Spurs could jump in. He has the talent to become one of the best keepers in Europe, and is seen as some as the heir to Gianluigi Buffon.

Asmir Begovic, Stoke City

The Bosnian has been a top Premier League stopper for years now, and would be a good signing as he would not need any bedding in time. However, he could cost quite a lot from the Potters.
