Neto (Fiorentina)

Currently looking like the leading contender to fill Mignolet’s boots is Brazilian Neto, who has refused the offer of a new contract at Fiorentina, who could look to cash in on him in January. A good shot stopper, Neto has been impressive for La Viola of late and would represent a cheap option for Brendan Rodgers.

Victor Valdes (Unattached)

Liverpool could still move for free agent Victor Valdes, who has been training with the Reds’ fierce rivals Manchester United lately as he looks to recover from a serious knee injury, having been released by Barcelona in the summer. One of the leading goalkeepers in Europe over the last decade, Valdes was a cornerstone of Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering Barca side and would certainly bring plenty of experience.

Asmir Begovic (Stoke City)

If Liverpool are going to pluck a proven Premier League goalkeeper to be the solution to their problems, they should look no further than dependable Stoke City custodian Asmir Begovic. The Bosnian international has been one of England’s most consistent stoppers over recent seasons and it makes sense that the Reds have been linked.

Petr Cech (Chelsea)

Perhaps the most optimistic of the goalkeepers linked to Liverpool is Chelsea stopper Petr Cech, who has lost his place in the Stamford Bridge first team to Thibaut Courtois this season. Jose Mourinho will be desperate to keep Cech until at least the summer, however, so this one is probably a non starter.

Loris Karius (Mainz)

One potential solution for Liverpool could be Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius, with the young German capable of offering improved quality now and a long term option for the club between the sticks. The former Manchester City prospect is out of contract with the Bundesliga club at the end of the season and could be secured cheaply.
