Manchester United Roundup: Red Devils Quoted £20m For Real Madrid Ace, Schneiderlin Not Leaving Until The Summer And More Injury Woes

Monday’s biggest stories for the Red Devils.

Real Madrid tell Chelsea and Manchester United Raphael Varane will cost £20m

Los Blancos are ready to part with the impressive 21-year-old as he still can’t establish himself in the starting XI.

According to the Daily Express with Pepe set to sign a new bumper deal Varane will be allowed to leave for £20m and both the Blues and United are interested.

Both sides are keen to sign a new centre-back and Jose Mourinho may have the advantage having signed the France international for Madrid back in 2011.

Sergio Busquets to snub the Premier League and sign new FC Barcelona contract

Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United are set to be left disappointed in their pursuit of Busquets as the midfielder prepares to sign a new deal at the Nou Camp, according to the Daily Star.

With Barca playing inconsistently under new head coach Luis Enrique it’s believed many of their current stars are considering their future in Catalonia.

Busquets has played his entire career with Barcelona to date, but doesn’t look set to leave the club anytime soon.

United will have to wait until the summer to sign Southampton star Morgan Schneiderlin

The Frenchman has given an update on his future and has stated he will not be leaving St Mary’s in the January transfer window.

Louis van Gaal is interested in the 25-year-old – along with the Gunners and Tottenham Hotspur – and it’s thought he will cost around £27m.

“January is always a delicate month to leave in. I will finish my season with Southampton and then see what happens in the future,” Schneiderlin was quoted by the Mirror.

Van Gaal injury crisis ahead of league clash with the Saints

Despite beating Yeovil Town in the FA Cup Third Round on Sunday it was not all good news for the Red Devils in terms of injuries.

Both Rafael and Luke Shaw suffered fitness problems during the game and with Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young already sidelined, van Gaal has no fit full-backs for the weekend, according to the Mirror.

This is because other options Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo are also out of action currently.

Michael Carrick meets Stone Roses lead singer Ian Brown

In a chance meeting whilst walking around Manchester the midfielder bumped into the Mancunian musician and took the opportunity for a selfie.

Carrick has been greatly credited for improving United’s defence since returning to the starting XI.
