According to reports on Spanish radio station Cadena Cope, who are quoted by 101 Great Goals, Lionel Messi is “monumentally angry” with Enrique, who dropped him to the substitute bench for the game, bringing him on at half-time.

Andoni Zubizarreta was sacked of director of football on Monday and club legend Carles Puyol has also left the Nou Camp. Now it appears as if Enrique could be next on the chopping block, as Catalan officials plan a major overhaul of their struggling club.

Seemingly, Enrique has two games to save his job: Elche in the Copa del Rey on Thursday followed by a monumental clash with Atletico Madrid on Sunday. Not only must he win those games, he must win back the likes of Messi, and fellow star Neymar.

There have also been suggestions that current president Josep Maria Bartomeu may call early elections due to the current crisis, while there is expected to be a meeting between Lionel Messi and the other three leaders of the first team squad: Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets on Wednesday.
