Here are the five best stars who used to ply their trade at Old Trafford.

5. Gerard Pique, FC Barcelona

Was actually a Champions League winner with United after lifting the trophy in his final year of four during the 2007/08 season, but since heading back to Catalonia the centre-back has greatly improved.

Things may not be as good for Pique currently as they were when he was winning the World Cup back in 2010, but the 27-year-old is still regarded among the best in the game.

4. Danny Welbeck, Arsenal

Many Man United fans still haven’t forgiven the club for selling academy product Welbeck to the Gunners for £16m over the summer, as they felt it undermined their philosophy of promoting from within.

It’s easy to see why as well as since moving to the Emirates Stadium the England international has looked sharp, even scoring his first career hat-trick against Galatasaray in the Champions League.

3. Paul Pogba, Juventus

This is always labelled as the great mistake by the 13-time Premier League champions as Pogba left for Juve on a free in 2012 and is now regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world aged just 21-years-old.

Yet in truth the club wanted to keep him, but the France international wanted to move on and he has certainly developed better in Serie A then he was ever likely to in England.

2. Carlos Tevez, Juventus

Staying in Turin and it’s a forward who also won the Champions League alongside Pique in 2008 and has since enjoyed a successful stint at Manchester City.

Tevez has somewhat reinvented himself following a difficult latter period with the Citizens and the Argentina national team and this season has an impressive 15 goals and five assists in 22 appearances in all competitions.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid

There was never any real doubt who would be topping this list though, as Ronaldo is not only the best former Red Devil but is the best player in the world full stop currently.

The 2014 Ballon d’Or winner is continuing his almost super-human form for Los Blancos this term with an incredible 31 goals and nine assists in just 25 games.
