Manchester United are facing a battle in their bid to sign Galatasaray midfield star Wesley Sneijder with Italian giants Juventus set to step up their pursuit, the Daily Star reports.

United boss Louis van Gaal has been keeping tabs on his Netherlands compatriot, with a view to stepping up his interest this month.

Manchester United will attempt to sell Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez at the end of the season, even if Louis van Gaal decides against a £43.2m permanent deal for the on-loan Radamel Falcao, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Hernandez, a £6m signing from Chivas de Guadalajara in the summer of 2010, is currently on a season-long loan at Real Madrid after being allowed to move to the Bernabeu by Van Gaal following Falcao’s arrival at Old Trafford last September.

United are facing yet another injury crisis with all four of their wing backs now out injured, the Daily Star reports.

Rafael and Luke Shaw were both taken off at Yeovil yesterday and have joined Ashley Young (hamstring) and Antonio Valencia (thigh) on the injured list.

Johann Cruyff has told Louis van Gaal to stop moaning about the lack of a winter break in England, the Daily Mirror reports.

Van Gaal voiced his displeasure as United were forced to play twice in under 48 hours between Christmas and New Year.

Morgan Schneiderlin is ready to finish the season at Southampton after admitting it will be “delicate” to leave this January, the Daily Mirror reports.

The France midfielder went on strike to force a transfer last summer and is now being tracked by Manchester United as well as Spurs and Arsenal.
