Fernando Torres will make his second debut for Atletico Madrid as a starter, as his side host local rivals Real Madrid in the Last 16 of the Copa del Rey.

Former Atletico fan Torres was presented in front of 45,000 fans on Sunday after re-joining the club on loan from AC Milan. The 30-year-old scored 94 goals during his first spell with Atletico.

Torres and co will face a Real team out to avenge a first defeat in 23 matches, which came on Sunday when they were beaten 2-1 by Valencia. Carlo Ancelotti’s side has won 22 straight games since a league defeat by Atletico in September.

That left Real two wins short of matching the world record of 24 consecutive victories set by Brazilian side Coritiba, and came five days after Carlo Ancelotti’s side had lost 4-2 to AC Milan in a friendly.
