Alexandre Lacazette gives boost to Gunners and Reds by declaring his desire to play in England

There are several clubs keeping tabs on the striker, with his fine form for Lyon this season seeing Lacazette scoring 19 goals in 20 appearances for the Ligue 1 side.

The 23-year-old is being strongly linked with a move away from his home nation of France and the forward has revealed that he would welcome that as well.

“Between England and Spain, I don’t have a preference,” Lacazette was quoted by the Daily Express.

Mario Balotelli has no interest in joining Olympiakos on-loan

Having failed to make an impression at Anfield following a £16m summer move from AC Milan the Italy international has already been linked with a departure.

According to the Daily Star the Greek side Olympiakos were interested in taking Balotelli on-loan, but the 24-year-old has rejected the move.

Paris Saint-Germain are also understood to be interested.

Daniel Sturridge will return to Melwood after successful rehabilitation in USA

There is some good news for the club and Sturridge as the England international’s injury nightmare appears to be over as he returns to Merseyside.

The 25-year-old has been in Los Angeles and Boston receiving specialist treatment after a string of injuries has limited the attacker to just three appearances this term.

However, the Liverpool Echo reports that everything has gone well for Sturridge and he should be back in action in the near future.

Anfield lure will help attract Steven Gerrard replacement says Rodgers

The big news dominating the club this week has been Gerrard’s announcement that he will leave this summer and join MLS franchise LA Galaxy.

Replacing the captain is going to be no easy task for Rodgers, but the Northern Irishman believes that the lure of playing for such an iconic side will make his job easier.

“We have to believe the status of this club, the idea that the club moving forward is something, and a challenge that will make players still want to come here. The team has changed and the players have changed but the great name of Liverpool is still the same,” the 41-year-old was quoted by the Mirror.
