Monday’s biggest stories for the Reds…

Suso set to complete AC Milan move in the coming days

Liverpool midfield outcast Suso is set to complete his move to AC Milan. The 21-year-old reportedly completed his medical at the San Siro yesterday, although it has also been suggested that the switch might not be completed until July.

Suso is looking forward to the challenge, and said: “I am very happy to be coming to Milan.

“I haven’t spoken to coach Inzaghi yet. I came here for the medical and hope it all went well. Do I have a message for the Milan fans? I am not here for long then we’ll see when I am able to play.”

Balotelli exit edges closer as Juventus confirm interest

Juventus have confirmed that they want to sign Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli, despite his dreadful league form in England. The Italian giants want to sign the player on loan with the option for a £14m deal.

Manager Massimiliano Allegri as saying: “We would like to recruit him, but we do not know if it is possible. Mario had a good season with me (at AC Milan).

“Unfortunately he’s built up a character outside of the world of football and everyone talks about what he does off the pitch. All coaches love to lead the best players.”

Oussama Assaidi sale set to be confirmed as Stoke deal ends

Oussama Assaidi will complete a £4.7m move to Dubai-based Al-Ahli this month, with reports confirming that the 26-year-old winger’s season-long loan spell at Stoke City has been terminated.

The deal represents remarkable business for the Reds, who only paid Dutch club Heerenveen £2.4m for the Morocco international – who has made just 12 appearances for the club – in the summer of 2012.

Liverpool looking at cheap options – Neto and Origi

Brendan Rodgers is looking into the possibility of signing Brazilian goalkeeper Neto in a £2m deal. The player’s contract expires in the summer, and the Reds must act now to prevent the player joining Juventus on a free in the summer.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that Liverpool are waiting for Lille to find a replacement for on-loan striker Divock Origi – and that could set in motion a chain of events that sees Rickie Lambert leave the club for West Brom.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Reds have agreed to pay the French Ligue 1 side a £3m fee to ensure that the teenage Belgium international rejoins them in the winter window.

Rodgers backs Reds for top four challenge in the coming weeks

Brendan Rodgers is convinced Liverpool are ready to launch an assault on the top four places, saying: “We are a team who can come on strong in the second half of the season.

“There is still a way to go, but the exciting thing is that in my two years here we have always been better in the second half. That’s the business end.

“That is where we want to be. We still have Sturridge, Lallana, Johnson, all these guys to come back into the squad. It’s gone the way I hoped it would and hopefully we can continue with this momentum.”
