United targeting Morgan Schneiderlin after his fine weekend Old Trafford performance.
Manchester United are set to make highly rated Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin their main transfer target for the January window, report the Express, with the £25 million rated Frenchman having caught the eye of United manager Louis van Gaal with his fine display in the centre of the park as the Saints shocked Old Trafford with a 1-0 win on Sunday afternoon.

Schneiderlin has grown immeasurably as a player since the Saints’ promotion to the Premier League and has been one of the division’s most sought after players in the Premier League over the last 18 months – but the Saints fought off interest from Arsenal in the summer to keep hold of the box-to-box star.
He has been with Southampton since the club were promoted out of League One under Nigel Adkins, but did appear to push for a transfer in the summer before performing a u-turn and could perhaps be tempted by a move to a club as big as United, despite the stunning season that Southampton are enjoying under Ronald Koeman.
The insipid display and lack of creativity and bite in midfield from United during the home defeat could’ve promoted Louis van Gaal to look for a new midfield option, with United now set to make a move for the £25m man.
